How is Windows 8 going to improve the “old” never matching “estimated” time?
Since early day of Windows COPY/PASTE timing was never accurate, a job could take 10 minutes, may be 3 hours if not 30 seconds “)
We all had to believe to the displayed time in the information box , (as the below screen shots) in our “classic Windows environment”, regardless of your Windows version. And cross our fingers, to get the right time :) To be fair, Windows 7 is (still) much faster than any other previous Windows versions.

So , doesn't matter who , we all where annoyed with it , regardless of your “ end user or IT Pro /Developer “ title.
What has changed in Windows 8 Developer Preview ?
First of all a much better graphical overview ! Check the screenshot ! A very nice visual of the copy/move speed !

And the ability to pause a transfer of your action .
With USB 3 support and SDD Hard drives , and future development of Windows we all can expect a FASTER and more accurate copy/ paste time . Looking forward to see Windows 8 RTM already ( still long time to go, and till that time comes, Windows 7 is till the very best for me)
