TedX Turkey Talk
As a Cybersecurity Expert, I have spoken on 5 continents and so far, more than 45 countries. My biggest crowd was at Microsoft Ignite, a few thousand attendees listening to me while it was broadcasted live online. I can proudly share that I spoke at Black Hat, Microsoft Ignite, Hacker Halted, Tech Ed, Global CIO Summits, CISO Summit and many more other Tier conferences.

These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded Ted X Talks and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED. These events are not controlled by TED, but event organizers agree to abide by our format, and are offered guidelines for curation, speaker coaching, event organizing and more.

Akasya Asıltürkmen
Actor
Akasya Asilturkmen (14 April 1977, Istanbul) is a Turkish actress. She started acting at a young age by attending the course opened by Ali Poyrazoğlu Theatre. In the same period, she acted in the movie Istanbul Under My Wings and this was her first step towards being a professional. Later, she graduated from Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory Theater Department. She worked in theaters such as Semaver Kumpanya and Istanbul State Theatre. She still does many television, dubbing, cinema and theater works.
QNB Finansbank Deputy General Manager, Human Resources
Born in 1973, Akıncılar graduated from Eskişehir Anadolu/Osmangazi University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics in 1996. He worked as a Mathematics Teacher for 3 months. Between 1998 and May 2003, he worked at Pamukbank Human Resources as a Specialist Officer in charge of Wages and Industrial Relations. Akıncılar started to work at QNB Finansbank in May 2003, Human Resources Recruitment Assistant Manager, System Development and Projects Assistant Manager, Organizational Development, Performance, Strategic Reporting and Revenue Management Unit Manager, Human Resources Management Systems and Revenue Management, Personnel and System. He worked as Authority Management Unit Manager, Human Resources Management Systems and Revenue Management, Personnel and Systemic Authority Management Department Manager. Akıncılar, who became the Human Resources Director in July 2018, has been appointed as the Assistant General Manager of Human Resources as of January 2019.

Koray Şahinbaş

Theater, cinema and TV series actor. He was born in 1972 in Istanbul. He has acted in many movies and TV series since 2008. The character of Raşit, who he played in the TV series Dila Hanım in 2012, is one of the important series of Koray Şahinbaş’s career. He also took part in the internet series Fi and Owner.

The General Manager of TETFIT, Dr. Şener has products on wearable technologies, IoT, virtual reality systems, robotic systems and artificial intelligence. She provides consultancy to companies, mentor support, project writing and also works on the protection of intellectual and industrial property rights and corporate identity creation services.

Ömer Çolakoğlu graduated from Erciyes University Computer Engineering Department in 2004. He started his career as a software developer and continued as a SQL Server DBA. Ömer Çolakoğlu, who has training on many online education platforms and whose training is on the best-seller list, was awarded the Microsoft MVP award in the Data Platform category, an award given by Microsoft to IT professionals who contribute to the industry and communities. Since 2015, he has prepared trainings in many universities and social platforms. Çolakoğlu, who is still one of the 3,000 MVPs in the world, continues to work both in the private sector and in the field of education. He also completed his master’s degree at Erciyes University Computer Engineering Department in 2020.

In 1996, she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest Turkey Final with Tuzmen and came second with the song “Do you have it, say”. Ayhan, who participated in the final in 1997 with the song “You’re here,” and came in second again, participated in the final with Grup SOS in 2000, and won the first place with the song “Yorgunum Anla”, which she sang in the final of the 45th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Stockholm. Serdar Vatansever

Serdar Vatansever graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Psychology and completed the Clinical Psychology Master’s program. Vatansever, who draws attention with his projects in Turkey, besides his psychology trainings, Prof. from Bahçeşehir University. Dr. He took Forensic Medicine lessons from Şevki Sözen. After completing his 13-year basketball career, while completing his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, he also published a scientific study investigating the “Psychological Effects of Sports” covering Turkey’s leading sports clubs in his thesis. Apart from the field of psychology, he developed international projects especially in the field of music. Although he played many instruments during his university years, he developed the ‘psycho-drum’ project that could reduce the effects of playing instruments on depression by providing activation and synchronization between the brain lobes.

Yonca Şahinbaş (born 6 July 1972, Istanbul) is a theater, cinema, TV series actor and voice actor. Şahinbaş graduated from Mimar Sinan University, State Conservatory, Theater Department in 1994. She is the daughter of artist Mahmut Cevher. Yonca Şahinbaş, who acted in State Theaters during her education period, started her voice-over work in 1991. The artist, who also serves as a presenter in Bakırköy Municipality Theaters, acts in films and TV series.

What Is The Difference Between TED and TEDx?
If you have been on the internet for a considerable period of time, chances are, you have seen a video of a TED Talk. Or maybe you have searched for TED Talks on specific topics like leadership or activism. At some point, you have noticed that some of these videos are from TED or sometimes they are labeled as TEDx[Insert City]. You probably wondered “What is the difference between TED and TEDx? We are more than happy to explain.
What is TED? What are TED Talks?
In order to understand the difference between TED and TEDx, we must start with what TED is. TED is a non-profit organization that is devoted to the idea of spreading ideas. The TED organization began in 1984 as a conference where “Technology, Entertainment and Design converged”. TED became known for it is short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less).
The mission of TED is to spread ideas – it is a global community that welcomes people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. TED is owned and operated by a non-profit, non-partisan foundation whose agenda is to spread great ideas.
TED was created in 1984 by Richard Saul Wurman and co-founded by Harry Marks. However, the TED Conference did not get off the ground until 1990. The TED Conference became an annual event in Monterey, California, and eventually grew into a world-renowned event. It is a roster of speakers broadened to include scientists, philosophers, musicians, businesses, philanthropists, and other influential figures. TED has expanded to include Conferences, TED Talks, The Audacious Project, global TEDx, and more.
What Is The Difference Between TED and TEDx?
TED and TEDx are similar in many ways, but at the end of the day, they are different entities. We have dived into the early history of TED and its story. However, did you know that before July of 2006, TED Talks were not released to the public? After TED published it is first videos online, they received millions of views. These online TED Talks had become so popular that TED relaunched their website around the TED Talks, and they now had a global audience.
Due to TED’s global reach, many people around the world wanted to host their own TED Talks.
TED fans wanted to have their own TED conference that was customized to fit the local community. These TED Talks would feature local leaders and community influencers who would share ideas relevant to their geographic area. It was also a cheaper event that the original TED conference, one that did not include a cost of $10,000. This was how TEDx was born.
In 2010, TED Curator Chris Anderson introduces the TEDx program.
What Is A TEDx Talk?
Simply put, TEDx, x=independently organized event. TEDx follows the same format as a TED Talk. The main difference between TED and TEDx is that TEDx is focused on a local, geographic area. It is a local gathering where TED-like talks and presentations are shared with the community.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Each TEDx event is licensed by TED and must follow a specific set of rules and guidelines, much like a franchise.
TEDx has some of the same features as TED but also is its own unique event:
• The TED Format – Each TEDx event follows the TED format. It consists of a roster of short, carefully prepared talks and demonstrations. TEDx Talks are idea-focused and cover a wide range of subjects that provoke conversations that matter.
• Diversity of Topics – TEDx events offer presentations that encompass a broad spectrum of topics and issues. You get to hear diverse topics from a broad range of voices from technology, science, design, business, activism, society, child development, and community.
• Community-Driven and Bias-Free Content – Every TEDx event is organized by volunteers from the local community. Similar to TED events, there is no commercial, religious, or political agenda behind the talks. It is goal is to spark conversation, connection, and community.
What A TEDx Event Is Not
Although TEDx is inclusive in topics and speakers, there are specific criteria that every TEDx event must follow. This is what a TEDx event is NOT:
- A TEDx event is not an industry or marketing conference or limited to one topic or industry. TEDx cannot be used for selling or commercial purposes.
- The TEDx events cannot be used to raise money, even if that money is going to charity.
- TEDx event cannot partner with another conference or event
- A TEDx event is not organized for any political, religious, commercial, or special interest group.
